About
A little bit about me...
I was born in a naval base hospital at a time when doctors didn’t have ultrasound technology and the doctor told my mom that her baby would be a boy. My Mom and her sister were both married to Navy men. There was a friendly bet between my father and my Uncle Steve, that who-ever had that first boy, would get the name Steve. I guess that they took the doctors word for it and already had the name Steve on the birth certificate. Thank goodness my grandmother added the “Anna” on to it and that’s how my name came about. Everyone but my husband calls me Stevi, which suits me just fine!
I started drawing and painting as a young girl and have continued to nurture and grow my skills through various lessons in tole painting and decorative art. Decorative Artist, Vivian Huff has been a valued friend and teacher for many years.
Oil paints are my medium of choice to capture the details of texture, color and light to bring flowers and butterflies to life on canvas. I am inspired by the gifts of nature, beautiful sunsets, and feeling the sea spray on my feet as I walk the beach searching for seashells.
I want to inspire my customers through a painting to feel that they are re-living a treasured memory. My hope is that my paintings will bring back the feelings of wonder for a beautiful landscape or delicate blossom at a special place or time in their lives.
